Operation
MetalAlert is an extremely simple device, with no moving
parts. Fluid enters the top port of the detector. It then travels
downwards through the perforated board containing the gold plated
electrical grid on the top & bottom surfaces. The fluid then
exits through the bottom port and returns to the engine sump or
oil reservoir.
Smaller metal particles, normal wear, pass through the perforations.
Detection of metal occurs when larger particles settle
on the electric grid. which consists of two interposed circuits.
When the metal particles build up on the two interposed
circuits, the gap is bridged between the two grids and the circuit
is complete.
An alarm or shutdown relay can be activated.
MetalAlert can be connected to our MetalAlert
Controller.
